Cafe alert - BB200

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

It appears that there may be another food/water/brew option at 138km. It's a community cafe and they'd quite like to relieve you of some money in exchange for tea, cake, etc.

I have to say, I've no real idea of opening hours (they open on demand and know all about the BB200) but it might be an option, especially for those at the pointy end of things.

Remember seeing the community centre when doing the winter event (I was checking out the back for somewhere to kip officer, honest! ) and seeing the cafe marked on Google maps when tracing the route. Somehow I don't think they'll be open when I get there.

I'd love for them to be open... but I SERIOUSLY doubt they will be when I'm there.

Being lazy, to save me doing so, can someone get the lat long coordinates and post here?

Would be good to program into the Garmin

ish - that's quickly off google earth for the rough place. It's after Llanbister, but before Llanidloes.

This is in decimal format which might be easier to enter in to the Garmin
56.361220, -3.426571

think that 56 should be a 52

Great news about Glyndwr's Way Café for this weekend's riders. Belinda has just rang to say she is willing to do a night shift and will be open from 6pm Saturday until 8am Sunday. Serving baked potatoes, soup and cake :-bd

This popped up on Google maps when I was looking yesterday but I'd written it off as unlikely to be open. Someone should give them a link to the Spotwalla page.

The back half of my ride would certainly have been a lot less pleasant without them, it was absolutely brilliant

The consensus between Stu Cowp, Ian Fitz, Lee Craigee and myself was that next year's version should pass through here at around 130km :-bd

Maybe twice - 130km and then again at 170km when the first round of cake/soup has worn off.

Really hope she enjoyed the night shift and made some money as a little oasis is worth a pot of gold.
