Tea Cup

Post by Chew »

Looking to make my cooking setup a bit smaller, as currently i have 2 cups. One for cooking and another to have a brew while my pasta/cous cous rehydrates. Unfortunatly my brew cup doesnt fit inside my cooking pot.

It needs to fit inside my Alpkit Mytimug, but big enough to fit my stove in.
Been looking at the Myticup, but wondering if theres anything similar which would be insulated to keep my brew walmer for longer, as i'm aware that ti is a good heat conductor (great for cooking mut not keeping my brew walm)

Alternatively, make a pot cosy and just buy the alpkit?

Boil water in Mytimug, empty into pour&store bag along with pasta to cook through and eat out of (cosy be handy if your doing pasta), reboil in mug for a brew?

Works for me.

Are those pour and store bags ok with boiling water? ie no chemicals leaching into food.

The 'Pour n' Store' bags are designed for hot liquids, unlike normal ziplock bags.

How big is you stove?

I used to use a MytiMug & MytiCup with pot cost round it inside it fit all snug and non rattley

Stove was a Coke Can style that fit inside again

Two (for added strength) polystyrene cups held together with a bit of tape? ... there can't be much which'll be lighter.

Failing that, Snow Peak make a rather nice double walled Ti mug in both 450ml and 600ml flavours. The 450 will certainly fit inside your pot, not cheap though

Just noticed there's a few more options on the same web site.
