Pinnine bridleway

Post by SR »

Hey Folks,

Just after some locals to give me the heads up on how muddy the route gets from Hebden Bridge to Settle going up the first weekend in May.

Cheers

There's a variety of surfaces, some is stony track, some trail centre style armoured singletrack, some fields

From Hebden Bridge to Wycoller is generally weather proof though there's a bit or two just before Wycoller that stay muddy for a while but they are a couple of hundred metres at most. The bit after Wycoller can be soft going as it's across fields with only short sections of hard surface. A bit easier once you've climbed up past the A6068 but fields again around Kelbrook. OK on and off Weets Hill but Pit Lane can be muddy until it becomes tarmac. Once you've got past Gisburn then it could be soft going until you get to Long Preston then it's back on rocky double track.

Unless it gets really boggy then something like Bontrager XR2 or Maxxis Ikons will be fine
