Belgian/Dutch Approved Bivi Sites

Post by Dan_K »

Came across this map whilst looking at options for visiting my cousin in Brussels.
Thought it may be useful for people. I quite fancy a few days roaming...

That's great thanks! I honestly would never have expected something like that to exist in NL (possibly in Belgium...)

Are they really free ?!?

Apparently so. Looks like a pretty good resource.

There's some in France too. One in particular near the climbing at Fontainebleau I've stayed at lot. It was closed years ago due to crazy numbers of people using it at once.

There was a sign stating 10 people or six tent maximum but in bouldering season it would be rammed full.

I'm hoping to head out to one of these this weekend so did a bit of research. There are more in NL - https://sites.google.com/site/paalkampeerders/kaart

(there are otehr, less well kept charts that suggest there are even more but it's not easy to tell. It's a tad frustrating as I'm planning on going through the tulip fields so one up my Alkmaar would be handy

That looks useful as hope to return sometime this year.

Last time in Belgium I spent the night in a WWI graveyard before heading back to Dunquerque the next day.
