WTD: Cheapo GPS

Post by ootini »

As per the title. Nothing fancy. Just the ability to load a gpx file and follow a line on a map. An included bike mount would be a nice feature too.
This is purely to see how I get on with GPS units so not fussed about bells and whistles. Thanks.

Hi, thanks for the offer but was hoping for something a bit cheaper.

Good luck in finding one that's half decent for little money

You threw it away the other week

I should point out that Steve didn't actually throw it away but lost it. Luckily it was found the next day by Matt 'eagle eye' Harvey and Paul 'gripping hands' Burton.

How does £53 posted sound? It'll come with a bike mount and the box (if I can find it)

It has a 3 or 4mm little scuff on the screen but its not affected use

By not paying attention to this thread I managed to miss Stevemorg's post above! If anyone else has an etrex 20 going for similar, please let me know.

Thanks

Motorola Defy mobile phone. Currently running Cyanogen Mod ROM and has been rooted. I was using this with Orux maps app as a GPS on the bike. The charger cover is missing, and the microphone doesn't work so you can't actually use as a phone, but as a GPS and music player with headphones it works great. It has been well used so not in the best cosmetic condition, but perfectly serviceable if you want a GPS with maps via an app. Nothing other than the phone (uses a std USB cable) £20 but you'd have to sort out a bike mount

Thanks I've used apps on phones before with limited success. I'd rather stick to a dedicated unit, but thanks anyway.
