Anyone got a Velo Orange frame?

As above, just wondered whether anyone had one. I love the 'old skool' styling of the more traditional frames but the Piolet looks like it could be the perfect bikepacking bike. Here's a picture of it with 29+ stuffed in ... in reality there isn't really enough room for them but there's plenty for 2.4" 29er rubber or B+.

It just looks dead right in my eyes.

You had your eyes tested recently?

What's with the head tube protruding so much above the top tube join?

Those tyres look tiiiiggghhhhttt!

Also the bars are totally the wrong height surely if they're off road drops?

It's basically another variation on the bike I already own (which essentially ended up being just a custom Fargo clone really).
Although I do wish I could squeeze 29+ in the back of my bike, but I didn't know about such a thing in 2011.

Looks very short for the height of bar and seatpost. Might look better for a shorter rider.

Frame and forks could be an On One prototype.

Just looks a bit "ungainly" overall.

I do like the low front end you get from it being non-sus corrected/compatible.

The more I look the more I see on that, as well as the silly head tube arrangement it's got a metric sub standard load of spacers fitted and then a negative rise stem, the saddle's gopping, needs a black drivetrain, looks daft with those wheels and I'm not sure that standard 29s would make it better.

The finishing and paint colour is lovely though.

Technically it doesn't have that many spacets.

The stem is alot of the "spacer" i think.

Someone cut their steerer to short...

I like that, looks right to me, amd at $650, the price is spot on too

but from the velo-orange site
The small and extra-small sizes use 26" wheels. We chose 26" because they are easier to replace than 650b in remote locations.
What a load of rubbish!! If you can't design a frame around the 650b , then say so. If you're ever stuck in the back-country with 650b wheel and need a replacement, a 26inch will fit in (ok, it wont be perfect but good enough!)

The stick propping it up is a bit sub standard too.

They've bothered to put the tyre logos opposite the valves, but then not bothered to put the valves at the bottom of the wheels for the photo.

Our sling shot was being used elsewhere at the time

To be fair Stu, I've always thought the Piolet would make a stellar bikepacking bicycle, if it weren't for my love of fat tyres

Do they mean 26" US paperboys bikes or 26" Flying pigeon sizes when in Africa? Or maybe they meant genuine 650b tourer tyres you'll only find in Oregon and France? :???:
