BB200 Injuries list
So today has revealed
Left toenail bruised and about to fall off
Sore arse
Right arch of my foot twinges weirdly when walking
A cut between my fingers where some bracken got caught and dragged between (looks nothing hurt like hell)
Gauze bush rash on both legs
and oddest of all
4 ulcers on my tongue.

I burnt my finger while cooking some bacon yesterday afternoon
May the bridges you burn light your way

Re: BB200 Injuries list
Bruised pride :(
Re: BB200 Injuries list
Bit of a tickly cough.
Re: BB200 Injuries list
I have the weird ache in my foot as well, possibly not enough walking training for this ride
Oh and a blister the size of a 10p on my heel, all the rest feels good though

Wasn't that when you touched the water heater? Didn't look like you enjoyed it.Bearbonesnorm wrote:I burnt my finger while cooking some bacon yesterday afternoon
As for me, achillies is completely screwed, can't move my foot from horizontal at all. Right calf very sore, but getting better. Other than that just general bruises from a couple of offs, nothing major.
Have tried that a couple of times, still not convinced it does anything.DrMekon wrote:Grim side effects of overdosing on beetroot juice.

Re: BB200 Injuries list
- An arse that looks like I sat on a landmine.
- Right knee won't support any weight.
- Left achilles swollen and hurty.
- Finger blister from overuse of my chain tool (6 times the bloody thing snapped!!!).
Not a bad haul.

Where on earth are you buying your chains from, scrap-chains-r-us? Do be sure to let us all know so we can avoid whatever it is you bought!gairym wrote:- Finger blister from overuse of my chain tool (6 times the bloody thing snapped!!!).
Re: BB200 Injuries list
garmin froze corrupt file gutted,
it's not that I can and others can't, it's that I will and others won't.
Re: BB200 Injuries list
Just achey - wouldn't classify myself as injured. still very slight cold that I had before I started - severe lack of sleep I'm getting over, and some light grazing etc. from pushing through foliage/gorse/bog etc.
Otherwise OK

Re: BB200 Injuries list
Right achilles & left hip both pretty sore, undoubtedly from all the hiking/bogtrotting.

Re: BB200 Injuries list
Well last Wednesday I was xrayed to check fractures in my pelvis and lower spine - had some muppet decide he was going to drive into me at a roundabout. Unfortunately this meant I couldn't lift my right leg too well.
As I already set me head to complete bb200 I decided to give it a go. The consultant didn't recommend it - but I said to be fair it's not a ride anyone would ever really recommend. He said to rest and mobilise as pain allows....
Turns out with decent pain killers that's actually quite far - very proud of my green badge :D

Turns out my ankles really are quite tender - just went out for a lunchtime wander. At least the hobble has gone (I think due to crash, my right leg compensated for the left a little bit).

Re: BB200 Injuries list
Turns out my throat is abit roar, but thats just from all the moaning i did im sure! My right Achillies also felt like it was going to snap at the end. But considering AW's pains im sure i was just being a pussy
Oh and i can highly recommend for those with a sore butt this morning looking at buying a new sadde, i changed mine before the ride and what with some new shorts my ass is fine. If id of rode this without these mods id be in bits now knowing how sore i was after just 50miles the week before!

Re: BB200 Injuries list
Bit of a swollen ankle today after going over on it during a spot of tussock yomp. It's usable, but looks like I'm hiding a small apple in there when I tip my foot forward.

Meta-analysis agrees with you - https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Br ... 5f2612.pdf
However, it gave me chronic hand cramps. They started soon after I drank the first litre (I drank 4 litres over 4 days), stopped during BB200, and started again after I drank some more on the way home (I was thirsty and it was all I had in the car).
I won't be drinking it again.
