WRT Route Needed

Post by Hoojum »

Once again no navigational preparation has occurred and I'm without a route for the WRT. Last year FantasticMrMatt shared his route with me and Stu gave me a great route the year before. To some this may sound like I've missed half the fun of the event but in reality I prefer the riding and bivying over route planning.

So would any kind soul care to share there route and send me a gpx file to load onto my borrowed Garmin? I promise I won't hold it against them if I end up knee deep in a bog.

I'll be honest, I haven't made a route yet either ;-)

I have printed a map with the points on it though, and Bothies locations!

I should have a partner in crime route planning though apparently, otherwise we're winging it :-D

Sorry, can't help you with gpx. I'm a bit of a luddite, I've joined some dots and done some colouring on paper maps so, armed with them, my memory, and a sense of adventure, I may or may not complete a ride resembling my planned route. Enjoy
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Top man Stu. I gotta say the best WRT, riding wise, was 2013 when I followed a route of yours and just enjoyed the ride.

I'm going to avoid looking at any other routes. I quite like the route I've setup for myself and I don't want to start second guessing things.

Nathan / Ben ... you should both now have a route. Roughly 150km and 3500m ascent. :-bd
