Genesis Longitude

I'm tempted. I can just about scrape together the cash and it seems like the ideal addition to the garage for something on the fatter side of life.

Any owners care to comment on whether this is a rash decision. As for alternatives I really cannot push the budget any higher.

Frame only option is £375. You could transfer old kit over?

They do look lovely though (from the catalogue) and it would tempt me if I didn't have a similar sort of bike

I don't have one Dave .... however, if I had the money, I would most certainly buy a frame set. The only thing I'm concerned about is the TT length (me having long legs and short body, a bit like a woman really) but others have told me that as long as you run some type of sweptback bar then it doesn't seem to be an issue ... are you like a woman Dave?

Frameset £375
SLX groupset from Merlin £300

Leaves £300 for bars, saddle and a wheelset with tyres. Much better buy than the genesis build-up

That is a good point Stu as I am like a woman in many ways. The frameset idea might work as well if I could source the wheels cheap as I have not got a set of 29"'ers

Think I need to have a go on one

These guys had them on sale recently but it's back up to RRP but with credit to buy parts instead.

Just an idea but for wheels 35mm rims are much cheaper than 45s or 50
if youre keeping prices down that is

Which 35mm rims are you thinking of, Velocity's aren't that cheap
And seem to be thin on the ground ?

A friend picked one up at the end of last year, he seems to be happy with it so far! I had a quick roll around on it, would consider one if I'd not got the KM. The Spyke brakes seems pretty sweet and look a likely replacement if my BB7s ever die...

I was thinking blunts. You're right theyre 66 quid, not cheap. But duallys are 45mm and are 104

I like the look of them and am giving one serious thought to replace my 456. Then i think for an extra £75 i could get a stooge!

A couple of guys on the fat bike forum have them and rate them. If I hadn't already got a krampus I'd be in the market given that the frameset is half the price
Ideal HT560 bike Dave!
