Is there much coverage in the area, I've checked three and vodafone and it looks pretty patchy? Are Sat phones/Spots recommended?

It is patchy but you should get something if you're near to villages, etc ... on the hills don't expect anything (although you will find the odd spot)

Whilst we're at it, don't forget to carry cash in Waleshire. I once had a cashier put my credit card in the till when I went to pay*
