I have a budget of up to £300 for a new sleeping bag as Dads throwing some money in towards it as a christmas present. Looking for something for a down bag for winter use for someone about 6' 3", and very skinny (my sister describes me as the "spaghetti"). Any recommendations out there? Obviously I don't want something too big/heavy as it'll be heading out with me on the bike. I'd say I'm a cold sleeper, so a little warmer is probably better.
This is not necessarily for all-year round use as I already have a tired three season bag (more like a two season these days!).
Help me spend far too much on a new sleeping bag…

I'm pretty well sold on my Zpacks if you're in the business of splashing out some dough. http://www.zpacks.com/quilts/sleepingbag.shtml
-12C...6' 4" x-long...757 grams...that would come in right about your mentioned budget. Then you just have to avoid the import b'stards.

If you feel the cold, it may be worth considering the fill weight. Whilst a 800/850 fill will be lighter for the same warmth as a 650 fill, the 650 fill bag may "feel' warmer to sleep in as the extra weight hugs you rather than rest on top of you

Hmm, thanks for the suggestions everyone.
PHdesigns looks good, but a little over budget even for the cheapest model I can see (unless I'm being blind… quite possible).
Will take a good look at ZPacks. -12 and 757g sounds rather attractive!
Thanks all.

I hadn't considered that the different down fill weights would make that sort of difference… that's certainly food for thought! If you feel the cold, it may be worth considering the fill weight. Depends what rating you consider winter, but there is a 0 degree bag in the PHD bargain box for £200.
http://www.phdesigns.co.uk/bargain-box
Probably not warm enough though

Cumulus bags are decent. Mine is 700g and good down to -6, and I paid about £225 for it.
