What guards did you go for? Thinking about getting some full ones for my Arkose.
SKS velo 55 because they were cheap - not fitted them yet so can’t give much feedback but having taken them out of the box they don’t come with stays by default so now I have to wait for a set to arrive.

Cheers. Not a good start! What use are mudguards without stays?

They’re fairly rigid plastic so I’m guessing it would probably be ok if you was going slowly on a smooth surface but I don’t have too many of those around here

... and brought my Christmas present.

Dee reckoned that as my helmet's over 30 years old, it was perhaps time I had a new one. I studied the options and thought something subtle and understated was probably in order .... then I saw flake flames and all that subtle nonsense went out the window :-bd

Tomshoo titanium bottle. Fits is a bottle cage. Has a neoprene sleeve. Will be added to my winter bivvy kit as a hot water bottle.

Nice lid Stu. Simpson?

How does the visor work? Does it pop on and off?

...and dropped off two parcels. One was a ti-goat kestrel bought from the classifieds which it doesn't look like I'll get to use for a while but packs down really small. The second was the stay kit for the mudguards I bought a couple of weeks ago. Just need to get the bike back so I can fit them.

No, not Simpson Ben. I've always had Simpson helmets but these days I don't ride enough to justify the price - I think an RX is about £650.

Visor? It doesn't have one

He/she delivered a Lanshan 1 three season inner all the way from China. I bought this on the basis that it might work with my Gatewood Cape (possibly requiring some modifications). After a quick trial pitch the other night it turns out that it actually fits quite well albeit the clearance on the rear quarters is a bit tight. I went for the three season inner as I wasn't sure that the mesh alternative would be midgie proof (protection from midgies was a primary reason for wanting an inner option). I now have the option to use the Gatewood Cape with my Borah Bivvy or this inner depending on conditions and what I feel like. Cost was £41.17 including delivery (from AliExpress) and it arrived in around two weeks. Quality seems very good, all the stitching and materials seem decent. Weight is 332g (lighter than the 340g that they quote).
I took some pics of the various bits that I use with the Gatewood on the scales and some not very good ones of the whole thing pitched in case anyone's interested.

Bought a Beto tubeless inflator as I needed it for a change of tyres that wasn't happening with a track pump. Worked pretty well!

An electric rat trap - I've called it Frank.

Well that's very appropriate - Frank was of course the lift operator in the Edifice in Doctor Who episode 'The Forever Trap' .

Good to know, thanks. I'm pretty sure that's the four season inner though - the three is the mesh one.

Ti hip flask. Very light @80g, 280ml, ~10 fl. Oz =½pt. So may put something fortified rather than spirits...

In perhaps the most middle class post you can find, a pair of Hunter Wellington Boots  Found a pair slightly better than half price and then had some cash back sitting in the account for 6 months, so in the reckoning, I got them for £15...

Great for taking mini-voodoo and dog-voodoo out into the woods :-bd

Also received the decathlon jacket last week too, seems pretty good for £15 :-bd Waist is a little on the tighter side but fit  Anyone wanting one may need to upsize
