My next trip I want to go depth rather than breadth.
This is a great use of the veloviewer explorer tiles. You can not only see what you've been using the tiles, but also where you've been in the tiles and then aim for those places you've not been so much

I caved, less than £14 (including P&P), I couldn't help myself... :sigh: Planning to sick it on my down tube, rather than my fork, so will need to source some larger stainless jubilee clips.

I'm trying the VOOM stuff, as they're the "official nutrition supplier" for the Dirty Reiver. I thought I should try it and see what it's like before the actual event...

Update: tried the VOOM on a 7 km run with my wife, it's pretty bogging, but no worse than High5 Energy Source, or SiS Go, I suppose. Will try it on the bike, but there may be 10 servings going free shortly.

Penciled in 5 days around the Galloway forest area next week to test it out, hope Alpkit can knock up a new frame bag in time.

And left a pinnacle aspen 24 for my eldest daughters birthday on the weekend.

Looks like a great bike for the money.

A sheet of titanium foil. An impulse buy that may or may not be big enough to make a conical windshield for my MytiMug.

Postie brought me a couple of items, nicest one is this frame bag from Straight Cut, fits a bottle or an anything cage dependant on needs. Very nicely made.

Yup, Made by Ross at Straight Cut in Edinburgh. Its my second bag from him. Really neat work.
I wouldn't call it cheap to be fair, but hand made kit by a one man band (I think its just Ross) never will be and I see no reason why it wont last ages in the same way anything I got from Wildcat does. So I don't mind investing and supporting.

He does it all digitally rather than faffing on with cardboard cutouts etc. https://www.straightcutdesign.com/

Yeah, I've been in touch about a custom full frame bag, but right now it's a bit expensive, that looks really neat though (it was one of my other ideas to try getting one made like the Alpkit one Pete Mcneil has for the SRMR - would you PM me the approx price rather than bothering straightcut again please?

Returned today back from Exposure

Image

Bought in early 2016, has been faultless until last week when the wording/info screen on the back died.
5 day turn around, £25 for repair and posting back.
Several friendly emails and phone calls from Matt at Exposure 10/10 from me.
Yes there are cheap lights out there but sometimes investing in the best pays rewards

I’ll get some pics sorted when I get the bike fully together later today, but in essence, slimming the sleeping system down for races where I might be on a minimal strategy of 2-4 hours sleep. I’d like to experiment with a half bag and down jacket combo, which coupled with a goretex bivvy and klymit x-lite mat, should pack to very little.

Granted, it’s a bit niche, and not everyone’s cup of tea, but the concept has piqued my interest.

Some emergency bog roll all the way from Wales.

Looks like it'll last for ages but it's not very absorbent.

Not the postman as I picked it up from BB Tower’s

It’s an Acepac accessory pouch, my revelate pocket only really works strapped to another bag, indeed this bag has 3 points which connect directly to the Acepac handle bar roll. The difference here is that it works as a Stand alone bag. While it works ok with the supplied Velcro straps the mounting points are a little too close together allowing a bit of side to side waggling, I cut the buckles off the supplied shoulder strap and Velcro’d them to the bars, perfect! An additional bonus is it’s waterproof due a removable (it’s Velcro’d in) drybag.
There is also a cable exit port for battery wires.
In the picture it’s holding my RAB minim 200 rather than the assortment of crap which normally lives up front.

A lot of bag for not much money, I’m a happy camper!

A repaired Igaro D1 from, err, Igaro - the smoothing capacitor had broken off. Only charged me the cost of the replacement parts which must be a mistake.

... and last Thursday delivered me a primaloft jacket and wetsuit courtesy of benconnolli. The jacket was used at the weekend on my bivvy and really improved my setting up camp experience, much appreciated!

This morning, from a distance, I was handed a small cardboard tube, containing a Ti wind shield. The middle magnet pinged off when I unrolled it. Found it on the floor, and have subsequently lost it again, small buggers...
