With some 100mm (Boost) 29er Reba's from the Alpkit Outlet eBay store. Then Evri dropped off a parcel from CRC, with a Lifeline shock pump (for £6.99!) plus some Prime Orra flared bars to get free postage :-bd cheapest I've seen them at £29.99. Crown race and star nut fixing tool due for delivery tomorrow

A new bikepacking headtorch for those long winter nights.

USB-C rechargeable.

(I've already got a NU25 and that's been great)

Not the postman, possibly the man himself not ten minutes ago, but I was out.

Not even paid for it yet. Ordered a copy this afternoon after completing this survey about a new bikepacking route in Yorkshire.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIp ... A/viewform

From his FB page:

“It would be great if you can spare 10 minutes and give us your opinion on all things bikepacking. I did a similar survey when I developed the Wild About Argyll Trail, and it provided valuable feedback.

Six years later I am working on Route YC and would like to understand how preferences for bikepacking have changed.”

... with the final bits for me to rebuild the RAG+. Plus a fancy (for me) bottom bracket for the Scandal; so I can fit the chainset I got from Woodsmith.

Yesterday he brought some SKS Mudrockers for my hardtail. It was a very close decision between these and mudhuggers (as fitted to my other bike and working excellently). The deciding factor being that they're something different

Fitted this morning and taken on a 50km ish ride.

Verdict:
Positives:
- Excellent coverage front and back. Upper body and face stayed clean. Both bottle tops stayed pretty clean and drinkable (cage mounted), despite the amount of mud/slurry everywhere else. The little extension on the rear that comes to the seat tube is great
- Easily removable using velcro straps (I really don't like the cable tie waste when removing mudhuggers)

Negative:
- The rear doesn't feel quite as secure as a cable tied mudhugger. I can feel it bouncing on rough downhills

I'm just jealous, having fitted one myself this week and once again trapped skin and struggled to get it straight.

I have a Pedros (star nut fixing tool). About 20 years old now. Still don't get why people try to smack em in by hand and don't want/wish for proper alignment and depth :-bd Maybe that's just me

Used hope head doctors and associated carbon versions for years ...removable as well so , assuming I buy enough forks, it's cheaper than a sfn and the tool.

(I'm probably going to get some stick for this...)
With a set of aero / TT bars for the Straggler - I'm not needing to go any faster but have taken to resting my forearms on the bars on longer rides to give my wrists and hands a rest, despite the bars being higher than the seat, so it would be nice to have something a bit more secure (and higher).... Anyway will give these a whirl (prime mini TT's) and advertise them on here if they don't work out....

I'll be interested to hear how you get on.
Have never used aero bars, but am curious, for same reason.
