Noticed this on STW. Can't vouch for any of the info / mapping but though it might be of interest. Sorry if a re-post.

Tried it on my Dakota, I think I'll stick with ioffer os maps as I'm familiar with the map style and Suffolk isn't an outdoor hotspot & there's lots missing. I'm too lazy to add stuff....

down loaded the file, opened a dropbox account and still can,t work out how to get it on a sd card, or open it has anyone got any idea on how to get this link onto the 800 unit thanks
it's not that I can and others can't, it's that I will and others won't.

All I did was click the link, click the download button, choose "save as", pick somewhere on my computer to save it then download. Once completed I dragged it over to the card and plonked it in the same folder as my OS maps. On the Dakota you then choose which maps to enable/disable and away you go. No dropbox account necessary as far as I can tell.

I haven't tried this yet, but I read in the comments that he hasn't included contour lines. I have been using the maps from OpenMTBMap (based on OSM) with Garmin EDGE 800 and I find the contour lines and additional data really helpful for MTBing.
