Their communication was appalling, and everyone thought they were going to do a runner with the 50k they raised. But actually, it's a really nice product, and it's clear that there were delays because they had to tweak the design after some extensive testing.

I haven't ridden it yet, will be out on it this weekend, so we'll see. Pics soon.

Wow, that's quite some delay.

With recent comm's from Sam I suspect the Roosters may be a long way away yet :|

How much does that saddle weigh and are they putting them into production? Looks like a very good thing :D

Ben, it's light, I haven't weighed it, but will do tomorrow, and show some pics, as it's a tiny bit different to the one on indiegogo, the rails and damper are the same, just the plastic moulding for the saddle body is a bit different. It's very nice though.

My only concern is how compatible it is with saddlebag loops. I'll get it on the MTB tomorrow and try the revelate viscasha on it to see. I'd like to ride with it for the Divide, might save my ass some pounding!

I like the style and the concept but it could be challenging to fit a seatpack?

Yeah, not sure it'll work yet. There is space to get the loop over the rail, but it's whether it will offer enough support to make the seatpack stable. Will see tomorrow...

Pleased to see you've got yours MountainBaker, that means mine must be imminent too!

Do the oval rails look like they'll fit in a normal seatpost ok? I've got a Morgaw seapost too but I might want to put it on other bikes/posts.

Yeah, they'll fit in a thomson style post fine.

Fitted the saddle, looks great, feels good just rolling around the yard. Maybe a little weird at first, cos it has quite a lot of give side-to-side, but I'm aware that's part of the ergonomic design.

The Viscacha saddlepack seems to fit fine, had to move the rail loops through the forward mount on the bag, which may make it less stable, but it seems sturdy to me.

Project funded April 2014

In the time its taken Surly Krampus frames can be had for £400 and Trek have moved the goalposts with the new Stache. Missed the boat in more ways than one.... ;)

biggest problem is... He tells lies to his customers.

He broke the rules of kickstarter and decieved us all by trying to cash in on adding another bulk order to the KS campaign. The additional order was non KS linked, but attached financially to the factory order. The delays meant this order was no more eventually, so we all lost out due to the funds not being in place to pay the factory.

Dishonest.

I've lost money and will never send my hard earned that way again.

Still on the boat though a uople got air freighted for promo purposes and to drum up some interest (I assume). Given the States' order fell through I imagine he may have a sh1tload to sell. Pics here:

Forecast middle of month arrival but I expect it'll be longer and moreover they'll get tied up in Customs. If I were a betting man I'd hazard they might start being received mid to late August.

Just received confirmation from courier that it's shipping (well, I assume it's this). Of course it's not being shipped to the correct address (despite emailing Sam the correct address when he asked for it)

Feeling rather :| which is a shame as usually new frame time is

It's sad but I think there'll be a lot of Rooster frames up for sale ... for many, the introduction (and general acceptance by the industry) of B+ means that the 29+ boat sailed long before the container ever left Tiawan.

Hopefully you'll love it CM

I really hope 29+ doesn't disappear. It makes a lot of sense in the right application. I reckon it'll stick around as a niche for a while yet.

The Rooster <ahem> cock-up would have ruffled my feathers for sure. Glad I didn't have the cash to invest at the time.

No, I don't believe it'll vanish either Charles. I just think that there'll be quite a few people swayed by the marketing hype / technical advancements of B+

Surely they will be just as fun to ride despite the fact that there will be armfuls of 650b+ around as well?
They won't suddenly stop being able to roll over lumpy terrain whilst carrying pies and cakes without the need for pesky, troublesome suspension forks?
Or is it that no one who ordered a rooster had time to amass a big box of parts before their frame turned up so that they could readily ping off and buy a marin for half the price?
I've (very nearly) made my bed and hope to be lying in it by monday....
Yes this Monday coming.
