Easter Highland Trail

Post by paul78 »

If weather is more favourable than not I plan at Easter to head up to Tyndrum to ride last years Highland Trail 440 route.

Plan is to set off on Good Friday morning and take roughly 4 ish days .. maybe 5 if weather is nice or photo opportunities plentiful.

Would be great to have some company for some if not all of it :)

I wish I could do that - Easter is also wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary so little or no chance of being allowed out then. However I suspect your pace is a bit beyond mine anyway...

I am shooting for a finish not a record so if anyone is interested don't worry about the pace .. worst thing that can happen is it takes a little longer than expected and I have to spend more time on my bike than in an office ... i'll cope

RobMac - I've got the route and PDF maps for the HTR430 if you want them - just send me a PM for the link. I'd rather not share openly as it's from Memory Map so I don't know the licencing restrictions.

However, in simple terms, cut the top loop out of the HTR550 and you're pretty much there.

Well I'm in Leeds so probably would have to drive up. What time were you thinking of setting off Friday morning?

Look out for my bike tracks
Reckon they might have been scoured from the surface of the earth by then ... or even by the following day

Yeah, I'm sticking with cairngorm loop as that's what I agreed to first with my friend; otherwise I reckon I would have swapped plans. Enjoy yourself!
