Anyone going to estimate their BB 200 time?

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Or anyone elses time for that matter. I've obviously got my own ideas about what time it can be done in but I'd be interested to hear what anyone else thinks.

I'm surprised no one's opened a BB 200 sweepstake yet ;)

  • IanB I'd go for 22hrs
  • Steve and Flatfish 28hrs
I don't know anyone else to guess they're times ;)

Stuart we ought to have a sweep stake on how much tea we can drink in the same time :D

Had a look at the maps now and my target is 30 hours. No idea if this is realistic or not. My timings are to get to Claerwen resr (~50 miles)by 7pm and do say a further 4-5 hours to get to carpark / viewpoint by 11pm, another ~20 miles.

Have a kip and then finish about 4pm on Sunday doing the remaining ~60 miles. Not sure I can get within 8 hours of Ian though....

What's the 'optional part 2'? Have I missed something? I have just one route as far as I know :?

You've not missed anything Kev ... Matt has a cunning plan. He's decided that there's a point near Rhayader where the route 'out' goes quite close to the route back 'in'. He's dubbed the bit between these two points as optional ;)

Thanks for that Stuart. Might be useful if weather is particularly foul but planning on going all the way.

Well it took us 7 hours to get to Ffair Rhos on the WRT 2010, but we did go over the Monks Trod which while shorter I did spend an hour up to my crotch in a bog and so I think we should be able to get there by 7pm if not a bit earlier via the BB200 route.

The pub in Pontrhydfendigaid is probably going to be our nemesis.... But if we can push on over and down the splashes, looking forwards to this in the dark :D , before finding somewhere to kip (bothy maybe). before midnight then I'm hoping we can get back before it gets dark on Sunday :)

I'm out the race.
After my last post I cycled home only 7 miles and became very Ill I can only assum this a result of my recent health drama so I am out for safety and health reasons.
