Onza Lynx, fast all rounder.

Post by Ray Young »

Back in the day I had a few Onza tyres including the famous "Porcupine" (great in mud but wore out quick on road/forest track) so when I was looking for tubeless tyres to set up my new wheels I thought i'd give the Onza Lynx a go at £30 each from Evans Cycles.
Tubeless, foldable and light at 29"x 2.25" I have found them to be fast on road and good all rounders off road, not the best grip in mud but nothing too worrying. I'm also very impressed with how much bigger a tyre seems be on a wider rim, more than happy.

I've been using an onza canis 29x2.25 for a little bit. It's also a pretty good all rounder. 748g on my scales. Not the fastest rolling but not bad!

Didn't realise they were still about. I had a set of porcupines back early 90's I think, must have been the slowest rolling tyre ever!
