How about a 40k (flat) Dads & Mums & Kids mini event some time next summer.

20k-Wildcamp-20k

After this weekend I'd like a bit of a social event & ride with my litte ones, it was brilliant seeing the kids having so much fun on the bikes and camping

Zoe's been on to me about taking the kids on a mini WRT for a couple of months now.
We're in.

Sounds good. We're generally away in the school holidays but if it's outside that, I'm in with my little boy on the tag along.

20k fairly flat
Ice cream

No big Welsh mountain scenery, but not sure thats possible without hills

Interested. Eldest has already wild-hung with me and (as much as kids do in their taciturn ways) seems to like the biking.

Sceptical I'd be able to get much gear on the boys bike though so expect I'll be lugging most of it - trailer hire anyone

deffo up for this, only trouble is my youngster(s) won't be up for riding 20km so any route would have to be tag-a-long friendly for us to come.

Also up for this as well ,the kids rated the weekend as 95 out of 100 and thanks for the hospitality to you all.

I think this rating may alter slightly with mileage and weather though.

Sounds good, was thinking about bringing my son on the WRT next year and doing a mini version, this would mean I can do both :)

Had a crap year for cycling due to work, hopefully next year will be better, nice to have these things to look forwards to.

I'm being pestered for dates now.
Zoe has suggested 5-6 July?
Warm enough for the kids not to freeze overnight with plenty of daylight for them to play all the way until bedtime.
Also a location would be good.

Oh the 5/6th July would clash with 'Le Tour de Yorkshire'

Not taken the kids (2x10yrs) out on a bivi trip yet, but they love camping so would be fairly certain they would be up for it. Distance wise thats sounds just right :)

Think how much gear you could strap to a tag along!! :)

Why not ditch the kids and just fill the tag-a-long with stuff? Imagine all that comfort!

Sounds brilliant. Have done a few overnight trips with the kids on their bikes, but only along canal paths and back lanes to campsites. They'd be well up for a trip to the Welsh countryside.

I'm not one for kids but I thought I'd post this up on here for those who have them.

Don't you wish your parents did all of this with you as you were growing up?

My daughter will be 3 and a half by this time. Too young do you think? How old will the other kids be?
