Recommendation pls: mtb tyres on a gravel type bike?

Something to cover the Peaks. Nothing weak with prone sidewalls. Something with decent grip and around 45mm in a 700c rim flavour.
Anyone got any decent suggestions pls. Asking for my mate Glenn. Convinced the lads to come out and do the NorthPeaks100 with me. They'll have fun
Obviously I'm not taking no fake roadie/gravel bike. But I know it can be done as Karl did 6 hours with the Cutthroat

I run 650b Vittoria Mezcal's on my gravel bike, Shaf. The trail version rather than race, and they put up with a fair deal of Lakes XC-like abuse. I'd not hesitate to give their 700c options a try:

schwalbe G One allround here.
700 x 40somethings on the tourer. 29 x 2.25 on the krampus.
i ride everything on them, have done for the last 6000 miles. zero issues at all with a 20 stone load onboard.

Another vote for Mezcals here. Currently running 650*52, have also used 700*44.

Don't know the event/route, but for a fairly tough off road knobbly gravel tyre, Hutchinson tundra is a good one. Pretty tough and grippy, but not one for a high % of tarmac. The tread is inspired by an mtb trail tyre. I've found them tough and durable, and they went up tubeless easily.

What Ton recommended.
A really versatile tyre and surprisingly grippy.
Take it easy with the rear brake as it's easy to skid on wet tarmac.
Overlands are also a good and more robust alternative. But not as fast.
If you dont like schwalbe, then go with Pirellis Cinturato M.
Avoid Mezcals in anything but dry conditions (i.e. not for the Peak District)
