After months and months of not riding a bike, and months of running then unfortunately due to injury months of not running or cycling I managed to drag my arse around London Marathon, ive managed to help my local club buy a defibrillator and raise money for The Firefighters Charity , so here's hoping I can get back to riding a bike once my quads calm down lol can't wait 😀

Well done Mick. I have a fiver yo donate to your defib mate, so hopefully well worth the challenge (sorry, it's not much is it, but still 1% of your target  ).

I started training for the Yorkshireman and a couple weeks ago did 12 miles split over 2 runs, and over 1800ft of elevation. Knees swelled up so had to relax back. Had em cupped (blood letting) and stopped running for a bit. Been walking 6 and 8 milers instead which seems reasonable.

Only problem is, the training for the Sept marathon might not be going too well and the 240 miler bike ride in 4 weeks might also have suffered  It is named after one of the hardest people in (recent) history afterall and I guess if no one finishes it I can benchmark it as the regular 2 yearly ride!

Cheers shaf I had a mare in training tbh I got to my 14m and bust my knee amd didnt get any more miles in and the didnt run for 2 months before my run
but I've had a bad year tbh I'd only manged to run 212 miles in the last 12 months so it was tough going
Tbh a few years ago when I was doing off road runs I found hill walking was my best training, it worked great

Thanks all and if anyone is to donate the link is below , I'm keeping it open for a bit
Thanks again much appreciated
