Garmin Screen Protector, do you still bother?

The screen protetctors on my 830 & Oregon 600/700 are looking a bit tired, & instead of replacing them i was wondering if i should even bother.

I know the older Garmins needed doing in order to prevent scratches over time causing the screen to look, 'cloudy'. But does anyone know if the screen-tech has actually caught up with modern phones, in that they no longer scratch as easily?

Or should i save my money & put it towards a stuffed beaver.. 🦫

Thanks in advance :-)

I always put a screen protector on, I don't think gorilla glass and the like is up to many thousand gritty finger swipes.

My wahoo had one and that wasn't even a touch screen. It still got tatty rattling about when removed at cafés and so on. Fresh film on the screen and you realise how scuffed the old one was!

Do I need to ?.dont kmow but it was about a fiver for two screens so not that expensive for another layer of protection.

Yes. Put the screen protector on. Even on the latest Wahoo BOLT/ROAM despite the screen looking a bit dull already, it's still a good investment on your investment. But then I've also got a thin glass prtoector on my phone which is an s21 fe Galaxy. Get the screen protector man. :-bd

Bro something is the company that comes to mind!

I use this brand on my Garmin/wahoo. So cheap why take the risk?

You should have protected the screen of your laptop. It's covered in wallpaper paste or something?

I wish I’d put a screen protector on my 830, it’s got a fair few scratches on it now

I sprung the $35AUD on a replacement fascia for my Etrex20. Device works like a new one and I left the plastic on it this time to keep the screen from getting destroyed like the last. It's a little tatty, but the screen is visible. Not sure about the fancier models, but suspect they can have the front panel replaced like the starter ones.

Thanks everyone 👍
I think I’ll put another set of protectors on, might even try some of the ‘glass type’..
