A bit of a long shot.
We've off to a wedding in southern Italy in May in an old camper van which is vaguely exciting but compared to modern vehicles underpowered and slow, although driving at 50mph (on the flat, less on the hills) means we get to enjoy the drive
Does anyone know of any route plannning websites, apps or software that allows me to see the elevation profile of the planned route? I've totally failed to find anything.
cheers.

Not so much a gravel grinder.... more a gravel (mud and tarmac) groveller...

Garmin connect will give you elevation data and ypu can your own route or upload a gpx ( and others) file and it will follow roads when routing
Can do whole world as just did a route in france to test.
Cycle. Travel website does same ( with ability to select via points) and you can export file to garmin

I have a Garmin Campervan satnav I used for a trip to Europe.
It shows you the elevation and steep gradients:

Re: OT: Camper van European route planning showing elevation
Excellent thanks both.
I've managed to get the route into Garmin Connect using myrouteapp.com, after Google maps and mapstoGPX.com didn't work.
It's great, and is just what I need.
and a Garmin Camper sat nav is on the pre-departure shopping list
thanks again.
