I heard about this forthcoming, Christmas Eve, radio programme last night...

...to the Old Forge, Inverie, Knoydart. Only accessible by ferry or long walk.

Oodles of bivi potential. Must be similar places around the country/world. I feel ideas formulating...

Knoydart is a bit of a bikepacking mecca in a away - that pub, several bothies and some unbelievably hard bike riding. Also plenty horrible weather and midges :-bd
Been on my list for many years so mebbes next...

I walked in a few years ago and ended at the pub. Had very high hopes but was a bit underwhelmed. Seemed to have gone a bit posh and boaty and wasn't massively welcoming. Mediocre pint too

I bikepacked into Knoydart last year. From Loch Arkaig. During a dry spell, which made a huge difference. I found 6 crates of beer hidden in the bushes. Been there a while. But I wasn't drinking at the time. Bummer.

Never been but, Pub changed hands last year. Now owned by the locals. Previous was a Belgian bloke. I think.
