Route 72 over 2 days

Post by JohnClimber »

If all goes to plan this coming Thursday 15th and Friday 16th I fancy a blast at the Sustrans route 72.
Ravensglass to South Shields, 174miles and one wild bivi on route.

A fast(ish) lightweight CX approach is called for.

I've done the practice runs, I've got the miles in the legs, I could be packed and ready to go in 10 minutes and I've prepared mentally for my first ever bivi night out on my own.

But looking at the forecast for tomorrow

I think I'll put it of for a few days  :wimp:

I have to agree, you won't dissolve in the rain and it won't rain all the time. A little bit of type 2 fun is always good and besides ... life really is too short!
May the bridges you burn light your way

No chance, I did it and finished last night after 188 miles over 32 hours.

Just going through the photos from the GroPro and put them into some sort of film thing.

Well done, mainly for resisting the temptation to kip in the bike locker! ;)
