Let's have a photo comp. VOTE NOW

VOTING IS NOW OPEN.

You can vote for 3 pictures. They're listed by name as they appear in the post. Voting will end on the 24th.

Gairy, if you'd like to repost yours I'll add it to the list.

Okay, as the year is drawing to an end, I think it's time for a photo comp ... listen carefully.

1/ Post up a picture here but only one entry per person, however you can change your mind and edit your post should you wish.
2/ The subject is 'bikepacking' ... so something that you feel perhaps sums that up in one way or another.
3/ Ideally it'll be a picture taken during 2023 ... but I'll not be going checking.
4/ Entries close on Dec 17th and voting will commence.
5/ The person with the most votes on Dec 24th will be declared the winner and will receive a lovely pick 'n mix pole set for their trouble.

Hopefully that all makes sense and NOTE: while you can 'attach' a picture, do remember that if it's too big, people may have to scroll and no one enjoys that. Much better to host the pic somewhere else and put it into the post via the buttony type thing up there ^. If you're struggling, email me your picture and I can post it for you.

Nice views? Lovely weather? Gourmet coffee? Comfy tent? Nowt wrong with all those of course  .

Meanwhile, lift the reeking threadbare carpet in the dank empty room at the far end of the corridor, down through the trapdoor and the rickety wooden stairs into the dingy basement of bikepacking, with its single dim 40w bulb, faint smell of sewage, festoons of cobwebs, thick layer of undisturbed dust, pile of bottles containing unknown evil green liquid, and from behind a stack of old rotting newspapers an unidentifiable but worrying snuffling noise (*); in the far corner festers...... the Unspeakable Truth Of Bikepacking.....

(*) probably just Reg snoring to be fair

Amazing how just a single photograph can give a complete insight into the character and outlook of each one of us

Cairngorms loop back in Spring. Slightly hysterical after shuffling bikes across one too many rivers

This was taken last year but after the closing date for last years comp so that must be ok? otherwise there's a period when any photos taken can't ever be in the comp?

Fascinating (to me!) that Raggedstone's photo was taken about 2 hours previous to and within a mile of Sean_iow's photo on the same ride

I really struggled to pick one from this summer's Cairngorms Loop Group Finish - four days off party pace touring in the sun allowed for some great pictures. But I enjoyed looking back on them on this snowy December afternoon. I'm gonna go with this one which I'm entitling "Women and Children First"
