Easy / Shorter BP events

Post by FLV »

I see the list of events on bikepacking.com etc and am obviously aware of the BB events.

Having been, lets say.... off the boil.... for a while I am not really up to speed with whats around. I was discussing with a friend for work and realised I was quite out of touch. So, to that end, what do people know about events that are geared towards the easier or more relaxed end of the spectrum.

The chap I speak of is keep to try a relaxed event rather than just pick a route (picking a route or making one up would be a little easier) but is keen to keep it to a single or double night out rather than a week or so and isnt an experienced off roader, though is fine to give it a go. BB200 would be way too much, for instance. A bb100/120 without any HAB in it would work.

The obvious is the Welsh Ride Thing.

Anything else spring to mind?

Dave. I'm not sure how easy it is but isn't the Jenn Ride supposed to be quite do-able for most abilities. I think there is a (organised group start) winter version of it coming up very soon.

Various routes available on the Calder Divide. Optional pre-arranged campsite with additional option of a bag-drop.

New event Tor Divide in the Peak next year

There’s a 150km distance, follow the organiser over in the ‘gram (he also posts here), seems a decent person

May I suggest the reader draws inspiration from the monthly RegRides, documented herewithin?

It provides plenty of suggestions for riders of a more civilised persuasion
