Re: Winter Jennride
Which pub is the planned stopover? I would like to do this but might take the weakling option given the time of year and book a bed half way! (Sorry if this is letting the side down)
Re: Winter Jennride
If you need to borrow some warmer kit I may be able to lend you something?

Re: Winter Jennride
That's really kind, but it might be a lack of stoicism rather than kit!
Re: Winter Jennride
Would be rude not to! All booked.

How would that work, out of curiosity? Would you start a day earlier?weakling option given the time of year and book a bed half way! (Sorry if this is letting the side down

Re: Winter Jennride
Aim is a winter ride and bivvy so you carry your own gear so everyone is on a level playing field as such!
Hawkshead Brewery Friday evening for a beer maybe watch a film to inspire and check out the route I will be on hand to answer your questions beer accepted.
Start Staveley!! no campsite but obvious van camping spots , ignore the signs, there are a few local airbnbs and bnbs plus the eagle and child if your really desperate we have a big garage
Start is at 9am, but you are allowed to start later or earlier just check in for your Brevet Card. More Bakery and Duffins will be open for breakfasts!
There are 6 unmanned and manned checkpoints on route which need to be done on Day one and one on day two.
Basic campsite at the ODG at 63 miles final food is 8pm so crack on!! you will pass Grasmere and Elterwater before hand so options there.
Route is 90 miles and 9200ft in total but will be a bit longer if the ferry is not working
we have 40 spots left! all the money is going to St Gemmas and Riders Resilience so I am willing to do refunds untill January 1st. If you decide you have not got what it takes dont worry your entry fee will go to a great cause and will be apprieciated.
Route will have some cheeky in it not much but it keeps you off the main road so if you encounter an irate walker be nice and walk .

JENNRIDE WINTER EDITION CAMPING DETAILS
Due to logistical issues with securing toilets for the event and the ever changing weather patterns I have decide to host the event camping at the Langdale Valley National Trust campsite. I have secured a group booking which will be discounted for all you fine humans!
This does not stop you from wild camping if that is what you want to do but follow the rules of wild camping!!
DO NOT BOOK ON THE NATIONAL TRUST CAMPSITE LINK BELOW FOLLOW THE TRYBOOKING SITE
https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/.../gr ... e-campsite
Follow the link for a camping ticket I have discounted the price as it should have been £9 per person to £5 as we do not now have the cost of a hire of a field and toilets. Please book as soon as possible so the staff and myself have numbers to work with.
https://www.trybooking.com/uk/DBPX
Checkpoint will be in the camping field on the Sunday morning so any wild campers please visit for your stamp for your Brevet card!
Riders Resillience and St Gemmas Hospice will both benefit from the event this year!
