Oh, interesting ... I love the old industrial and mining works in the Welsh hills. Can't put my finger on why but it's like big agricultural buildings in the countryside with silos and conveyer belts. Reaches my inner 5 year old probably!

I was just supping a Tiny Rebel 'CLWB Tropica' as I read that - maybe a sign, and I should get entered.

Interesting, that could be worth a pop. I don't know a lot of that route. Which is nice :)

Yeah, that's what made us sign up. Around half-way we'll go through familiar territory though. :)

The mandatory kit aspect strikes me as .... interesting. Used to it from fell racing etc, but not for self supported events.

As a minimum we recommend ...
Helmet
First Aid Kit
Chamois Cream
Sudocrem
Sun cream (Time of year depending)
Tooth brush
Baby Wipes
Bike Lights
Power Bank
Wall Charger and Cables
Phone with (What3Words) (Komoot)
GPS Device (With Routes Loaded)
Water Proof Jacket
Down Jacket
Cycling clothing (appropriate for riding conditions)
Tent or Bivvy Bag
Sleeping Bag (3 Season)
Cooking Stove
Lighter or Matches
Gas Cannister
Dehydrated Meals and Food
Water Bottles (800-1000ml)
Water Filter or Chlorine Tablets
Pump
Multi Tool
Inner Tube
Spares (bolts, cables, brake pads, mech hanger)
That seems like quite a lot?

Recommend vs. mandatory.

That's what I'd like to know.

That list has several of items I would never bring.

Advising cycling clothing seems a tad redundant , have they had a lot of naked entrants ?
I don't own about 6 of the things on that list.

Recomending is not mandating so I assume take what you like

I can see it now, everyone lined up at the start and the guy in the PA goes, " kit check time, hold up your sudocrem! and show us your babywipes"..........

Mmm, I thought this earlier, one can only imagine they're expecting a bunch of entries from couples new to parenthood.

One of the most horrifying stories I've ever heard involved a friend's unsupervised 2yo opening a large pot of Sudocrem.

Even as high as the time Reg had an emergency vexatious posterial regions situation ('sore arse' if you prefer) on a Peaks ride, when he had to divert to Castleton 'riding like John Wayne' and all he could find was a giant pot of Sudocrem in the chemist, which he purchased then dashed outside to apply a handful down his shorts in the middle of a Bank Holiday tourist-thronged High Street?

And now, back to the studio.....

On the day I signed up I had trouble making payment. I later got an email saying there was a glitch and to try again as it was sorted.

My mate just messaged to say he'd been charged twice for entry. I just had a look and I've been charged four times!

Deffo worth checking your CC transactions...

That's surprising with Si Entries - not like they're new to it (or cheap). I'll wait off entering I think, though the discounted entries end Aug 31.
