Hoping to do this next weekend however I can only find the 113 mile version with quite a lot of road in it. Anyone have the 140 mile version?

Easy to add to the Trans Cambrian Way for a rail served longer trip

Looks good for me as I'm only 1 mile from the finish in Conwy. However try not to be 'deceived' from some of the images in the Route Guide, as some photos are not from the route. Again with it being under the banner of CUK, they have to stick to legal ROW. They do say they are working on some issues though which would make it more interesting from an off road point of view (Penmachno quarry, Roman road at Abergwyngregyn).

FWIW, we’re somewhat unashamedly saying that some sections are still work in progress. Some real hurdles with habitat regulation assessments, and short sections where a couple of 250 metre gaps result in five mile plus detours.

You may be interested to know that one section was lost in the weeks prior to launch due to people pre-reading it based on consultation maps (such as circulated above)….

So - it’s important to get the message over that some compromises have had to be made in order to get a workable route, and that Traws Eryri will only become the route it should be (will be) when long promised reforms in Welsh Government access legislation are delivered.

But let’s just say that the secret squirrel version of the route has only been seen by half a dozen people

If WG ever actually carry out the access reform, they'll be a gazillion routes that can be published. Hell, even some of mine would be CUK friendly!

There’s a couple of maybe fairly obvious squirrely bits - but a whole cache of sweet, sweet hazlenuts that are harder to find
