I have parts of a few different bikes, does that count?

Technically I have a road bike that's in one piece, but obviously that's because I never use the thing.

You were always ready too Rich

Now, I just have to work hard to keep my head on and remain steady on the day...

Simon (mutant ninja turtle biker) you're gonna absolutely love it (best ride of the year).

You're definitely ready John.
Hope so, big test this weekend with the capital trail. This will let me know if a black badge is doable or unrealistic.

Lets be honest... that does sort of fit.
The question on everyone's lips is.... do you have a fully assembled and functioning bike?

If I can get one then it's achievable. I'm old, fat, and don't ride enough.

I think the beauty of the event is that it is mainly a test of the willingness to keep riding as much as it is a test of the legs, I did little prep, no research on feed stops, meths stove wouldn't work as the water was too cold, missed the honesty cafe, but just kept going forwards

Lots finished faster, we all got a black badge

Fully expect to get a reality check with a boggfest walkathon through horizontal driving rain this time

Curiously, the edition (of those I've done) that I enjoyed the most was 2018 - the really wet one with Javi and co playing at Indiana Jones crossing the log and the "interesting" stream crossings in Hyddgen. Given that I really, really hate rain and wind it's a bit of an odd preference.

A mindset of not accepting failure seems to help, whether just completing or aiming for a badge. On last year's BB300 I was at the high point of the route at Radnor Forest, it was around midnight and while dry it was blowing quite a wind. I got out my glasses to read the GPS only for them to fall to bits  I put them back in their case and hoped for the best.

That was certainly something alright. What a bizarre ride all round.

I'm having a play on the bb200 route from 2021 tomorrow all being well not sure how much of it I'll be doing mind. Thought it best to put this here before we get the route, last big ride before the big one.

Actively choosing to ride a part of the BB200 outside of the event...

...so, so wrong.

That was a good one Allen - advertised as 'gravel bike friendly' although it wasn't
The bit across the moor on Glyndwrs way / Heart of Wales Line trail was lovely :-bd

Today after some searching, I found the final piece of the puzzle. None of you should be happy about that.

To be fair, it starts well, takes a little down-turn but still quite pleasant ... then turns really bad for about a km but redeems itself shortly after. The picture is taken just before the really bad bit.
