I'm going to go back and finish it at some point, not this year though. Had to drop out last year with about 100km to go after me and Wotsits got a room together then spent the whole night grunting and straining and got no sleep. Had no energy to get back on the bike after that.

It's ridiculously beautiful though

One of a few bikepacking routes that's on the bucket list for when I have a bit more time, looks absolutely stunning. :-bd

Last man standing here!!

It's a great event! Basically 150 miles uphill, then 150 miles downhill, with a few lumpy bits thrown in :-bd

Highlights for me were, the food obvs, the scenery in the northern section- was stunning! Met some really good people during the event & finished with an evening in Venice..
The Americans on a family hol were good too!
The sunglasses capital of Europe, but without a factory shop!

If you click on the picture below it takes you to a little vid i put together, although for some reason it's missed the end off!

Looks mint Rich! I imagine teaming up with Sweetie and Mitch resulted in a fair few beer stops

It's on my list for next year.
Tempted to take it as a race to push myself but would not want to miss some of those views (isnt that the same for most races though)

Anyone else planning to sign up?
60€ is a pretty reasonable price these days.
Not sure if the new organisers will bring in any changes.

How did you travel there Rich - flight to Venice? And how many days riding?

Valerio - have you started looking at logistics? Looks like flight or train to Venice Treviso is then rideable to start/finish would work?

Couple of us flew Manc to Venice- Marco Polo, we then stayed at Camping Rialto & could leave our bike boxes & bags in their left-luggage (for a fee), which was also a good base to mooch into Venice, as there's a bus stop at the entrance. If anyone stays here i would strongly recommend getting something with Air Con though.. It also has good bus access to Mestre, where there's lots of places to eat & drink, but not at Venice prices..
https://www.campingrialto.it/en/home-page-english/

If the start is in Cittadella again, it's rideable from the airport/Camping Rialto/Mestre area (Flatish~50-60km), or train from Mestre..

In Cittadella loads of us stayed at Hotel Filanda, they had secure bike storage & will take left-luggage.
https://www.hotelfilanda.it/en/

There's an ok bike shop in Cittadella, but a really good one at the foot of Monte Grappa called Moretti Basssno- https://blog.morettibassano.com/

It's worth leaving a day or two spare to explore as there's plenty of places to visit. Aside from Venice, Padua & Bassano are supposed to be worth a look.

If looking for somewhere to eat in Venice & are yearning for some spice instead of more bread & pasta, Orient Experience Afghan restaurant was really good & reasonable $$..

No probs Andy

We flew Jet2 from Manc.

I finished with a group that took 8 days in total, but that was at a fairly relxed pace & i think some of the others had done an additional loop near Cortina. Claire from that group did a ride report on Gravel Union if you have a search & it looks like some of their pics are now on the Veneto Trail Home page!
It's difficult to say how long it will take though as the route changes every year, there's lunatics local to the area who rattle it off in a couple of days, but if you want to have a more relaxed experience, i reckon anywhere between 5 & 8 days.
Just noticed it runs anti-clockwise this year! When we did it, it felt like the crux of ride was about getting to & riding in the area of the Dolomites..
