Bikepacking / touring / whatever is not a spectator sport.
It seems odd to film as you go as some of the experience is changed by that and it makes me wonder about the rider's motives, having said that I've enjoyed
MatthewNorway's youtube films recently. He seems to enjoy sharing what he does and the places he rides through.
Thanks for this James. Yes indeed, I've just started watching where he's going through the glacier region of Norways national park. Defo engaging :-bd
Youtuber in 'influenced me*' shocker : )

*to look at roads and route ideas in Norway

While we're on Youtube, anyone watched the Stone King Rally film?
Those trails... and hat off to Ash Smith for all his routing work and what it's come to, inspiring stuff.

Back to the film this thread's about, I know what some here mean by saying it was hard going, I did find that. I think the filmaker intended to get some of Heinz's obsessive side across and it was that, the motives that kept him away from his home and family and where he seemed to be mentally after his return that I found interesting (more interesting than 95% of TV content alternatives anyway). I've always wondered how I'd cope with coming home after a few years touring. Red or blue pill sort of thing maybe.
