Glasgow to Adrossan - Advice?

Post by ootini »

Hello.
For those familiar with the area, what would be the suggested route to cycle from Glasgow City centre to Ardrossan? NCN route 7? Ayr Road? Other?

Thanks

Both the ncn7 and Ayr road are ok to cycle. Aye road is a bit hectic coming out of the city centre depending on time. The ncn7 is a nice cycle but sometimes seems to go through housing estates and back streets for no reason.

Stay in the banks of Loch Fyne in Argyll.

If you want to avoid doing the Glasgow to Paisley section, which is a bit convoluted, you can get the slow shonky train to Paisley Canal station from Glasgow central. The station platform is actually the start of a nice long length of railway path on NCN7.
