Nalgene Bottle cages

Post by woodsmith »

With the need to increase my water carrying capacity for upcoming trips next year after much consideration I decided to go for a couple of 48oz lightweight Nalgenes.
With two ti many things cages already mounted on the Forks options were limited. The many things cages have zero stand off from the fork leg so the impinge on any cage mounted on the other side of the leg. ( Surly fork with double mounts on each leg). I could have squeezed in a Lezyne power cage on the upper two mount holes with a Zefal Magnum 1 litre bottle for a total weight of 166g per litre.
The carbon cages + Nalgene + Voile strap come to 163g per litre. Seems like a lot of work for marginal gains and an extra litre of water carried, but when there's naff all on the TV and the weather is foul..... Image
