Hits a bit close to home for me, with me needing to find a new way forward, or ways to manage the things to enable me to do things that have made me 'me'. Been a lot of retrospection this week, sadness and wondering. Oddly appropriate to see this now.

Really pleased for them that they're keeping on and got that friendship.

Very very moving, brave people indeed…
(And Steve Bate went and solo’ed El Cap   )

But where do we go from here ?
Well ! By coincidence or otherwise just after listening to that moving story I came across this :

“You do not have a life”
https://youtu.be/Dok_LJaqeLU

(He’s a bit like another version of Mr Bean, such an amusing character, but listen to it, it’s 16 minutes, there are some gems in there…. (“You can’t pat another human as you would a dog, they’ll think you’re insane”)

Very difficult to put your mind to one side !!!
We all, every one of us, identifies with something, and many of us will protest “but that’s what we are made of, that’s why we exist”
It’s true, it’s also true that it’s not for everyone…..

Given what I have been through this year this is so on point for me, what was thought to be Epilepsy turned out to be a brain tumour, I am now recovering post op and finally able to get onto my bike once again. My whole point of view/priorities have changed, as I slowly return to work I won't be working a full five day week ever again, an extra day to play and spend with wife/friends is worth more to me than ever before, very grateful that my glass is more than half full once again.

Good man. Learning to appreciate what we have and what things are and aren't important can be a difficult lesson but good to hear you're out the other side. :-bd

As someone who seems to find any excuse to not ride my bike it’s even harder to justify watching that. Sometimes you just need a kick up the butt to go ride your bike and enjoy which this most definitely had done.
