Entries are now open for next year's Winter Event. It takes place over the weekend of Jan 7/8 and I can promise BB goodies, toast, cake and enough tea to sink a large ship. You'll also have the opportunity to sleep in a ditch of your choosing.

Hey Reg ... if you promise to be gentle, you reckon I might join you? I know I hold the record for the shortest ever WRT distance, but don't hold that against me. That was mostly Steve's fault. And Stu's fault. Totally not my fault. I wasn't navigating. But just thinking, I'm feeling fitter and fitter lately, apart from my knees, and could do with a cold/wet challenge to aim for.

'Twill be a shortish wander this time for Reginald methinks. However I guarantee it will include at least:

1 x cafe
1 x public hostelry
1 x unpredictable and absurd situation

I've booked my favourite room at the Wynnstay on Friday night - you know, the one round the back with no curtains and a broken window. Perfect.

Arriving by train at Caersws on Friday and riding to LBM via Staylittle, may be at the Wynnstay by 6.30pm.

Would like minimal faffing Saturday morning though: shite, shower, shave (*) - then get out there pronto, after second-breakfast of Stu tea/toast, 'cos there's loads to enjoy. Been as late as 11am one year which is hopeless, need to be rolling much earlier than that.

Indeed...my first official BB event and they throw in the added challenge of not being able to get there .

Good idea, I might try it . I like how he mentions there's advantages and disadvantages. Advantages include reading while riding etc. Disadvantages include... well I think we can guess what those might be eh kids... .
