Entries are now open for next year's Winter Event. It takes place over the weekend of Jan 7/8 and I can promise BB goodies, toast, cake and enough tea to sink a large ship. You'll also have the opportunity to sleep in a ditch of your choosing.

I'm pretty certain we will block the sun, just you wait and see!

I'm looking forward to it. No idea of any plans yet other than Wynnstay goodness!

Llanbrynmair - that’s a blast form the past. The Isle of Wight council used to have an outdoor centre in Llanbrynmair. Did a few trips to there.

The Bank Job..... hmm.... Bank Job.... thinks back...... Stu, I don't suppose by any chance you'd happen to have a photo of a bunch of bikepackers who wouldn't look out of place actually doing a bank job would you? .

Ah thanks, that's them, what a band of desperados :-bd

"Big" Al, "Fingers" Crewlie, "Dummy" Steve The Forger, Scott "Hideout In The" Woods, Mad Stu "Middleaged" McMadness, Reginald "Fast Cars" Perrin. A price on all their heads....

Hey Reg ... if you promise to be gentle, you reckon I might join you? I know I hold the record for the shortest ever WRT distance, but don't hold that against me. That was mostly Steve's fault. And Stu's fault. Totally not my fault. I wasn't navigating. But just thinking, I'm feeling fitter and fitter lately, apart from my knees, and could do with a cold/wet challenge to aim for.

The honour would be all mine Tim old spaniel  .

'Twill be a shortish wander this time for Reginald methinks. However I guarantee it will include at least:

1 x riverbank
1 x cafe
1 x public hostelry
1 x unpredictable and absurd situation
1 x eccentric local person

I've booked my favourite room at the Wynnstay on Friday night - you know, the one round the back with no curtains and a broken window. Perfect.

Arriving by train at Caersws on Friday and riding to LBM via Staylittle, may be at the Wynnstay by 6.30pm.

Would like minimal faffing Saturday morning though: shite, shower, shave (*) - then get out there pronto, after second-breakfast of Stu tea/toast, 'cos there's loads to enjoy. Been as late as 11am one year which is hopeless, need to be rolling much earlier than that.

(*) well 1 out of 3 ain't bad

Oh marvellous. Spiffing. Rail strike called for the Fri/Sat. Hate driving all that way, hate it full stop really, even assuming Mrs P will lend/hire me the motor.
