29er Forks 1 1/8 Straight Steerer WTD

Post by Escape Goat »

Hi

Just on the lookout for some QR 1 1/8 straight steerer forks for my Inbred SS - the el mariachi SS is now geared (for now) and suspended so the OnOne is now going to be the SS commuter hack bike.

not loads of dosh though, the OO isn't as nice as the Salsa. Hoping to keep the price as low as possible. Ideally rigid please.

Thanks

Hmm, I thought I'd sold them to you or the person who bought your PX frame's successor a few years ago, however apparently not as I've just found them in the loft! So I have here a pair of old style Surly KM forks, black with a few marks and bits of rust but nothing too bad. They have canti mounts as well as an IS disc mount and the steerer is 200mm long. AC is 475mm. They were bought at the same time as your frame and whilst I may have had a reason for not offering you them with the frame, I don't know what it was and I really can't see me ever needing them again. So available if you want. I'll clean them up and bung a pic up later. I'll try and think of a price but any reasonable offer accepted

They have cleaned up well enough although these pre-date Surly ED coating everything and using a nice thick powder coat so a few minor scratches and scrapes showing surface rust but nothing remotely of concern structurally. Inside the legs and steerer is fine as I waxoyled them. If Rich wants £60 for a set of firestarters that would make these worth £30 posted as the fire starters are very nice, with stainless steel drop outs (I also have a pair and I aint selling  ) I would say that On one recommended a 475 AC fork for the 29er inbreds but I suspect that the 10mm extra of the fire starters will make BA difference. These come with the canti mounts (I amazed myself at finding them) if you want a retro braking set up......
