My current lockrings need a BB tool to undo as they have the external notches, can I switch to a different lockring type and use a cassette tool instead?
So one of these ...
instead of this ..
My rotors have studs which interfere with my Lezyne BB tool, rather than buy another BB tool I thought I could maybe just switch the rings instead? I wasn't sure if they both have the same thread.
Apologies for the gimungous pictures stolen from t'interweb

It depends on the size of your axle. The ones with notches on the inside are supplied with QR hubs, the outside type are used with 15 and 20mm through-axle hubs.

Also, there are two different thicknesses of the second type, and I needed the thinner type, to avoid fouling my fork (road bike).
