I think this via a fairly comprehensive look at the options for running a Rohloff on drops.

I’ve tried two ways - with a Rohbox and modified SRAM brifters which I didn’t get on with, and with a Gilles Berthoud drop bar shifter which I get on with just fine.
Lots of folk use the CoMition shifter - including Shand and it always gets good reviews.
The CoMotion and GB shifters both separate into parts so they can be moved into position past the bend and onto the top section of your bars. The big difference is the CoMotion needs to sit on the 31.8mm section next to the stem and the GB sits on the thinner 23.8mm part of the bars.
I like the GB solution better as it doesn’t interfere with the ability to run a bar roll, aero extensions or other bar mounted paraphernalia. IME the GB shifter definitely benefits from being wrapped in bar tape to 1) help it turn easier and 2) be generally kinder on your hands.
Before I fitted it I was concerned about moving my hands up to the tops to shift but in practice it’s not been a problem whatsoever.
My Fargo is set up with the GB shifter on Redshift Kitchen Sink bars presently and I have more than adequate room for everything I want to mount and room for my hands. I previously had Ritchey Venturemax 46cm which also worked well.
Watch out for bars with wide 31.8mm sections - they would be much more suited to the CoMotion shifter. Same goes for if you want the shifter next to your stem.
If you are going through hell, keep going.

I've got some Planetx- [edit] On-One Midge shallow drop 'off-road' bars you can try.
I ran the shifter rohloff on the end of the bars. I used 90° V-brake noodles so the cables were in line with the bars. I ran them with the twister facing in. They also have bar end reducers fitted. (Vision USA p/no. 670-3788) as the end of the drop is normally a larger diameter than flat bars. They are 31.8mm clamp.

full spec here https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/HBOOMI/on ... -handlebar.
vision bar end adaptor like this https://www.modernbike.com/vision-aero- ... er-adaptor
I would. have gone back to them on the new bikes except I have Magura Hydraulic brakes and they don't do a drop brake Lever solution. I used tektro v drops levers & V- brakes. I suppose I could have gone for hybrid brakes (cable-in /hydro pistons), but flat bar Lever suited my budget..

What about those Surly corner bars? Designed for flat bar controls in a more drop like layout.
