I'm on the hunt for a wide bottle cage to take a 40oz (92mm diameter) klean kanteen on the underside of my downtube, what are the options out there?

Does the Monkii cage in Stu's shop take a chunky bottle?

I think 92mm would be pushing it.

Thanks Stu, I'll scratch that one off the list then

The Gorilla Cage will take a 100mm diameter object. You might be limited by weight though.

I've used one of these lately. It'll take pretty much any bottle. Mammut bottle holder.

I use a magnetic Fidlock system to mount my cooking kit under the downtube. The kit is contained within an Alpkit Myti 650ml mug with a plastic tub on top which contains instant porridge for about 6 days. The diameter of the mug bag is 100mm and is fixed to the mount using a BOA wire device as found on some shoes. It works perfectly, very secure and quick to release. I've added a toe strap as a precaution but it's not really needed.

The Fidlock product info is here, ignore the 80mm max dia, it goes up to 100mm+ with no problem. A bit pricy but really works.

I'm using an Arundel Loony Bin to hold a 40oz Kleen Canten under my downtube.
Only used on a single trip of 5 days - KAW plus riding back to Exeter predominantly off road. tThe mechanism got quite gunged up by the end of the ride but has washed up fine now. It appears to be pretty solid and I'm pretty happy with the arrangement thus far.

The Planet X Podsac fork racks will take 130mm diameter stuff. I don't think they are available separately, but for £25 you get two racks and two dry sacks and all the bobbins. Pretty sure you could sell on the bits you don't want on here easily enough. The bags are heavy but very strong.

I picked up a Widefoot Litre cage from Keep Pedalling the other day. Klean Kanteen goes in easily but seems fairly secure. Was a bit worried when it was rattling about as crashed my my way up and over Salter Fell. Thought it might have been using 2 bolts instead of 3 to secure it, turns out I hadn't tightened the bolts up enough. Nipped them up at the bottom and it was fine the rest of the way home.

Don’t know the diameter as I’m not at home but I can say without doubt the original monkii cage takes a 1l Nalgene bottle without issues
