I'm after a pair of Spykes, they're like bloody hens teeth!

I've seen people running spyers with flat bars. Surely the pull wouldn't be right?

There are short pull flat bar brake levers available, they'd work with Spyres.

Like old school v brake levers? Or would they need to be specific short pull flat bar levers.

Everyday is a school day!

Spykes do seem to be rare at the moment!

If it helps I can swap a pair of hydraulic post mount Hy-rds for a pair of mint spykes :-bd

Cable brake levers (whether for flat bars or drops) are generally classified as long or short pull (the amount of cable they pull for a given amount of movement at the lever).
Long pull works with v brakes and "MTB" disc brakes, short pull with road side pull calipers, "road" disc brakes, mini v brakes, cantis etc.
Spyres will need short pull.

Have you tried Aliexpress?
When I was looking for mine I did some wide searches.
They used to be available off there as OE not repro.
Eventually got them off CTC Forum wanted ad.
Zazen - nothing happens next this is it.

I've seen extremely well priced BB7 mtb brakes on there, and it won't be long before I get a pair for my ss mtb, but never Spykes unless they're rebranded?

Watch out with the direct from China stuff. I bought some bb7 a while a ago and when they turned up they were obvious fakes.
