Has any body got a helmet with fidlock :m: magnetic soft closing buckies?
I am interested in hearing your experience. are the good or over-rated.?
I am thinking of changi g t h e buckles on my giro lid :
they may also be rebranded by top manufacterers. Smith, Oakley are using them for winter sports lids.. :ugeek: :ugeek: :

I'm surprised they're strong enough.

Stu the magnet pulls it together it does not secure it it's grooved so cannot be pulled apart in the direction of your straps The magnets are strong enough to stop it falling out) .

Works fine and easy enough to use with gloves on

It slides together easily and It's secure ( mine is on a Down hill helmet) and it's just not coming apart.
It's not hard to get used to using but it's only real advantage is you can do it with gloves on.
Would I insist on it no would I worry about it no is it easy to use yes.

I can't think of a helmet catch I've not been able to operate with gloves on.

Have one on my bontragrr helmet, works as expected. No better than a normal buckle and no worse than one either. Not crashed with it so can’t comment if it holds the helmet as well as a normal buckle.

Wouldn’t be a design feature that I would look for when I pick my next helmet but would happily have another one

Have one on my full face helmet and as said above it’s not something I would bother looking for when buying a new helmet.

Does the job ok but never had a problem with conventional helmet buckles even with gloves on.

I have a Fox Speedframe with a Fidlock buckle. I was pretty sceptical about it when I got the lid but I've grown to quite like it. As others have said though it wouldn't be a reason to buy (or not buy) a helmet for me.

thanks for your comments all you boners.
if I find a buckle at a decent price, (not £10 posted), I'll go for it.
