Horner Farm do pizza (and it is very good) so if anyone wants food the night before that is a good shout. A stones throw from the local campsite. Need to book the pizza.

Is the car park ok to leave my van in Saturday night? Sorry if I’ve missed this elsewhere

I guess as it's a daily charge carpark, you can't leave it there overnight... Not sure where to park it while we ride?

There’s plenty of places to leave a vehicle in Porlock - about 2 miles from the start. I’m sure that you’ll have no problems if you leave your car in the car park at the start in Horner. You could contact the Rangers at the National Trust Holnicote Estate Office and let them know and take there advice.

If the weather is OK I may well do the same. Meet you on the way?

Possibly yeah, around Sampford Peverell? Bit further for you than me, only 80km to Horner from mine...

pretty sure the van would be ok in the car park - just bung a few pennies in the contribution box.

I'm going to have to drop off from the group start as I'm behind on the DIY (getting the house re-wired 1st week in August and need some walls knocking down before then  )

Anyway good luck everyone.

I just had a look at this route. I did a tiny bit of the top left hand corner last week (over to Lee Bay and out the other side, and a bit between Ilfracombe and Berrynarbor on a separate occasion). The casual description "Turn inland past Lee to cut the corner of the headland here and rejoin the coast at Mortehoe" doesn't even hint at the fact that the bottom of that hill is a double-chevron effort and then it keeps on going. Anyone who can ride 150 miles of that in one go has my respect! :-bd

Will be posting/emailing final route tomorrow arvo if that is OK. Weather looking gangbusters. Pizza on Friday night and sunny miles Sat/Sun.

There will be one tiny section of footpath at Watersmeet. This ensures an offroad ride most of the way down into Lynmouth rather than a dog leg on bridleway and road descent. It is easily walked and is only 100m long.

Cheers

Packing the mankini.

Might not have time to sort out the revised route but I’ll not be podiuming so no worries there.
