I'm very tempted, I'd have to do some training first as not spent enough time on the bike recently. I'd bring the singlespeed just for good measure as well.
After I entered I suddenly thought - "Will I do this single speed?" hmmm.....

Having not thought of any good reasons not to, I've entered this. Haven't even had a drink

Will be nice to see/meet some of you there.

I'm entered also - had a great ride last year, some of the weather was a little changeable on the Sunday but it ended up sunny. Met up with a couple of other riders and we rode the last 150km as a group - really enjoyed it.

Yeah, I'll be there Friday night. Got to live up to my reputation and spend the evening before a hard ride drinking.

Not bivvying though, I sleep badly enough outdoors not to want to do two days of it in a row. Will be at the The Railway.

Would it be utterly insane to do it on a gravel bike...? I watched that YouTube and I'd be walking.

...on a gravel bike...?
I asked Stu (the organiser, not BB Norm) about this. He said it's all rideable with the possible exception of Gunnerside Gill. The first few years he ran it, there were usually at least a couple of riders on drop bars.

I've done it twice, and I'd agree. There are a couple of bits you'd be uncomfortable for, but there's a ton of places where a bike like that would be a meaningful advantage.

I might sign up then. Would at least get me out riding my bike in an area I've never been to before... 👍

Gunnerside Gill is 300m out of 300km. There’s a few other short sections that would be rough on a gravel bike but nothing like GG.

Make sure you have low gearing- there’s a lot of climbing. Some of it’s a push even on an MTB

That's my main worry, I'm on 1x with 42 x 42, as it's not particularly lumpy round here...

As long as the weather is nice, it's a brilliant ride. I'm slightly concerned that getting food might be trickier though (it's usually tricky enough!).

Apart from things closing at 3 until 5 or as I found out with the one and only pub I went to, what problems you thinking of?

there are plenty of shops for food on the route. and boozers too.
shops in pateley bridge, kettlewell, reeth, dent, malham and cafe's in those too.
and some cracking pubs on or near the route.

you wont starve.

It's the pubs that are the problem, most places are a nightmare now unless you have a table booked.

Had issues getting to places too late and too early on the last two runs too.

Edit - Looking at the map, I think I'd need options around Arkleside / Bradley / Woodale as Starbotton likely too far for me to get this year without stopping. I'll have to work out where I'd be at certain times when I get a minute. I usually stop every four hours, give or take, if only to get water without messing around with streams etc.

Absolutely zilch around there Rich - you'd need to head down Coverdale to find any pubs, the furthest one up the dale is at Carlton. There's a water tap by a barn at Woodale (think it's that one) but as the farmer told me - "Looks brown and dirty but we drink it!"
