If weight is the single most important factor, Stoll is the way to go. Size M was just a bit above 850 g(!). BMC and Arc8 (both M) were 1040 g and 1020 g, respectively.

You need to get a Stoll. Get the full susser too whilst you're at it.
Throw away the old (2 months or older) gunk.
n+1 keeps the wheels turning. Hail the bicycle industry!

Luke... I really don't have an n+1 thing going on

Gian, weight is and isn't. It's always the blanace of weight/strength that I love.

BMC... would never ride one
GHOST glad I've never needed to ride one
SCOTT I looked at one once and thought 'eurgh'. It has memories of Wheelspin Cycles in my head. I went there before I instead bought my first bike in my 20s from Colne Valley Cycles. The gaffer needed a punch or a pinch. But thats just me...

Won't bother look8ng at the Stoll and had already discounted the Specialized EPIC at 850g for that very reason (and that it's a trashy specialized... sorry... I love Trek much better but only cos they were reviewed poorly by MBR for almost 10 years).

Bought the SC now anyway and possibly the last one to enter the country for a little while... :-bd

That Pinnacle will be a lovely BB200 bicycle. If you ain’t trying to break FKT’s then set up a comfy bike. Tweak the position and ride slow and steady.
I agreed he is getting dangerously close to being a bike tart..
I retract the Shaf, 'bike tart' sound slightly vulgar and would be a stain on your good characte. I meant to say' Hoarded Bike Collector', (careful how I say that)
- but I couldn't articulate the correct vocabulary!
One thing for certain.. I'll never get a Rohloff (so ugly... but not yours Dan  ) and I'll never try to overtake/ride ahead of Dan at Wessy again (no promises)...

You won’t get a Rohloff because you don’t have the mentality for it :o
A Rohloff bike is a keeper, see. Not one of your here today gone tomorrow projects.
Their customer service/warranty department probably wouldn’t meet your high standards either. They don’t get much practice with awkward customers much on account of Rohloff’s never failing so would probably have trouble dealing with you

Tell me you think that’s ugly! And remember you can’t lie or I’ll send round the NMC
If you are going through hell, keep going.

Rohloff are not for weight weenies. But I can crunch the gears all day :-bd .
Horses for courses.
Internal hub gears Rohloff, Alfines, Pinion & Kindenay.
All can be changed under load and whilst stationary. :-bd
Surely a bonus on a loaded bike. Oh you're a weight weenie so haven't seen a loaded bike!
Most also offer 'quick release' rather bolt on mounting options.
Yes, they is a bit more 'draggy' or slightly less efficient than a clean derailleur. Hey your all season bikepacker.- so really Butt a crapped up chain still runs, unlike than a seized up derailleur system.
At £1k for a hub  it is expensive, but I think I have spent less than £200 in total maintenance in 20 year, a few oil changes, chain & chain ring replaced. The rear cog has been reversed. In addition the hub was converted from to disk brakes, (and also internal to external gear box. (Approx £250)
To Rohloff engineering's credit the original bike with hub was stolen, neglected for 12 years, as a get to work 'push-iron', hence Chainring & chain replacement.
My very left field use of chain guard and front guard (inspired by Geoff Apps), I think have reduced chain wear and maintainence).
I hope you think you know, what I might of exactly meant.
Warning - may contain value odded typos & ither mythspellings..

Ugly... erm... I'm gonna decline to comment on the matter. The Middleburn cranks are hideous right :o

I lied about Dans btw. Slip of the tongue and sleep deprived. His takes ugly to a whole new level

Gian... Thanks so much. I'll be needing to think of a name at some point. Like naming the kids. I quite like 'Al'
