Aye, disappointed that I still can’t travel anywhere to ride alone, I can travel 115 miles for work in a film studio or theatre..... still at least we have a date.

Dangerous stuff this local riding.

Won't that depend upon which country you live in?

I'm sure it will to a degree Colin, although I can only assume if the powers in Wales and Scotland lag too far behind England, many people will simply crack on regardless.

If folk are gonna crack on regardless then any date is irrelevant

I couldn't see anything about "local" or not for exercise?

What are people's interpretation of how far you can travel to bivvy/day ride?

From March 29th
Formally organised outdoor sports - for adults and under 18s - can also restart and will not be subject to the gatherings limits.
That looks like the go ahead for groups of cyclists to get together. Maybe it'll be subject to the same caveat as last summer - that any event/ride is organised according to the rules laid out by Cycling UK/Britiah Cycling.

At the risk of being a killjoy, I have a bad feeling about this, there is a good chance for it to go pear shaped. Too much relying on the vaccine being a panacea, and joe public’s lack of patience could cause another lockdown.
Looking at the amount of people booking holidays today doesn’t fill me with confidence.
Hopefully I’ll be proved wrong.

Doesn't matter which Christmas John, they're all the same. Beer, chocolate, crap films.

Well if it isn’t we’re f****ed, by June everyone will be vaccinated. My industry has been decimated by this thing, I’ve spent the last year constantly looking at redundancy while going through a divorce, sometimes I see only a shopkeeper during a week.
I’ve ridden my bike twice since Christmas.
Much as I dislike Boris and his cronies I think he’s got it right, we’re still looking at four months at best.
Some of us really need some leeway, even if it’s only being allowed back out to the hills.
Today’s news has really cheered me up, don’t piss on me chips.

I'm with you mate. I did smile to myself. Next time you go the shop, go by bike, force yourself, once. See how it makes you feel. I forced myself to commute Sunday and I enjoyed it very much indeed.
