permission to rant!!!

Post by Mike »

Is it just me or are the royal mail robbing bastards....has anyone seen the new prices for sending parcels they seem to have got rid of their std parcel rates and now we have to use parcel force worldwide....so lets say i sell a small lightweight rucksack becuase of its size its now going to cost min £15.96 as its classed as large parcel...outrageous whos gonna buy something for say twenty pounds then pay £15 postage????

or am i missing something??

Most of my small lightweight rucksack's (15-25L) would weigh under 1kg packaged up and will fold up fine to fit in the £3 1st class bracket.

But yes, to agree, the new prices do take some getting your head around. We currently post 30-50 items per day and we're having to look into other options via couriers.

Check the dimensions of your parcel and make sure you can pack to within the specifications of "medium parcels", or better, "small parcels" no thicker than 8cm. As a fall back, send special delivery, which currently don't have the small/medium/large size rules applied to them.

2nd My Hermes, more reliable and cheaper. Also try parcels2go.com to find out best courier rate.

Better half is a serial ebayer and she has been ranting all week about the new pricing

The cost of posting a RF stove or Myti stove has just jumped from £2.70 (second class signed for) to £5.20 (second class) ... 'tis rather stupid.

Collect plus looks good.

I sent a bike recently by senditnow. It's operated by parcel force but for less than half the price
