A very stressful week indeed (don't mention solenoids (*)) so I've had to take solace (or solenoids) in the bottle. Or indeed bottlrs. Orindeed bottles. Oh, arse, get a grip Reg. Or indeed bottles.

1. Quasar Black IPA from Serbia (don't usually drink non-UK stuff so branching out there)
2. Spitfire
3. Titanic Choc Van Stout

A stupid mix really and too many and possibly in the wrong order (1 2 3, should've been 2 1 3) but I was desperate, Dan (***)

(*) I said don't mention solenoids!!

(***) Boys From The Blackstuff (****)

(****) one of the best telly series ever made (*****)

(*****) in fact I'm going to go and dig out my very precious script book from the loft and read that I think

A Denver Milk Stout that the missus got for me on a whim from Asda. I think I’m going to back for more.

Last night's bivvy tipple was Brew York's Barton 1792 Empress Tonkoko – 10.6%
Brewed and released just once a year, each Barrel Aged Empress Tonkoko release spends at least 12 months in a unique selection of Bourbon barrels. This year Barton 1792 was selected for its spicy and rye-richness to add oak depth to an already deeply decadent beer.

Bloomin' marvellous it was, and the beer's pretty good too.

10.6%. You're bonkers you are.

Last night - Honeydew ale. Nearest I could get to solstice mead...

I just apply every bikepacker's thinking on weight and packsize to beer.
Also, I shared a bit of it out, 'cos I'm nice like that.

Talking of black ales, bit of a shame nobody's picked up the Boys From The Blackstuff reference. Wobbling my way through the scripts. Incredibly bleak but superbly written by Bleasdale of course. Call me Dan.

Just listened to that - Undertones, You Got My Number.

Full quote, which you know of course: "I'm desperate, Father", "Call me Dan", "I'm desperate, Dan"...

Just a small emergency medicinal can of 'blood orange IPA' after a particularly challenging day at both sets of parents, grr.

Developed a taste for Wight Gold this week. While watching the sun go down on the Isle of Wight, very peaceful.

Coffee, outside. Took my stove and aeropress to the local country park. Only 2 miles from home, but that's not the point. Gorgeous morning. Two people have congratulated me on my life choices already. Couldn't find the appropriate thread, so posting on here, though at risk of cheapening the moment.

Looks grand. Must give my local al fresco coffee gang a shout, it's been a while since we last brewed up.

Also coffee, Taylor's Java Lava to be precise, swinging gently in my hammock. Lovely.
Can't believe I've only just now discovered coffee bags
( btw no, not Waitrose, coop actually... )

The coffee bag I have used (Lyons & Taylor's) always seem a bit weak, like your trying to get a 2ndcuppa from the grinds. A bit 'dishwaterish'.
I'm glad they work for you. Do you have to boil them . Not just off boiled hot water?

Ceramic City Majolica IPA (4.8% - steady!!) actually brewed by the Stonehouse brewery in Oswestry which I must look out for when I'm staying there pre BB300.
Mighty fine it is too. Bitter and Twisted next.

Bollocks, I was just going to say "Henry Weston's vintage cider", as part of my equinox feasting, but I've knocked it over

What are you like girl! Still, my Thornbridge vanilla stout also spontaneously opened itself, but luckily narrowly missed my sleeping arrangements otherwise it would have been an even damper night than it was.
